Turnout was a record 130 million, shattering the 122.3 million record from 2004.
And, the ballots aren't finished being counted yet, so that number will just increase.

Nice, but not too surprising; the population is always growing so there are (at least in recent history) usually more people voting in the current year then four years ago. The pop grew by about 12 million between 2004 and 2008.
