With all the crazy regarding Sarah Palin I have been wanting to check out the history of the VP office. I could have sworn that originally it was the 2nd place finisher to the presidency that became VP. Turns out, for the first 15 years or so that was indeed the case. Wild.
Anyway, this is a good summary of the history of the office.
